Weight Loss Goal Setting and Positive Affirmations
Decide What Exactly it is You Want and Begin Writing.

Don’t limit yourself to what you think you can achieve or to what friends, family, lovers and strangers have said to you.
Reach for the stars. This is your time to shine.
You’re going to show all the people who said “It’s impossible,” or “You can’t do it.”
Be specific in your goals. Make firm statements like:
“I want to lose ____ kgs of fat.”
“I want to shed ____ inches.”
“I want a body like ____________________.” (Be realistic).
“I want to weigh ______.”
“I’m going to lose ____________________ for ________________.”
“I want to fit into my size _____ pants again.”
Finally, write yourself a mission statement using the one liners you have. Word it like you already have it. Your subconscious does not know the difference. Whenever you think about it, repeat your positive affirmation to yourself. I lost all my weight to be the bridesmaid for my best friends wedding, so mine was this:
“I will look my absolute best for this wedding. My friends and family will be happy and surprised that I am looking so fit and healthy. The photos will be amazing and I will be happy to look at them for the rest of my life.”
Never use negatives in your affirmations as your subconscious does not recognize them. Don’t make statements like: “I want to lose weight so my friends and family won’t think I look like a whale.” Always use positives in your affirmations, never can’t, won’t or shan’t.
Be definite and keep it in the moment.
You can then go one step further. Take your favourite pair or pants and hang them on your door. If you don’t have a favourite pair of pants, buy some in the size you wish to fit into. Cut out pictures of the type of body you want and paste them into a scrapbook. Dream, imagine and visualise your fantasies into being.
The next time you feel dejected, too tired to do your toning videos, tempted to down a box of cookies, get them out and look at them.
Open your scrapbook and look at the pictures you’ve pasted in. Take down your favourite pants and hold them in front of yourself in the mirror. Ask yourself do you really want to fit these? Is it really worth eating that cream bun when all that time I spent toning this morning will go to waste? I mean is it? Really?
The only thing you really do need to be realistic about is when you start to affirm time frames. The media sets us up with impossible and unrealistic targets that we eventually start to believe are achievable. Sure, it is possible to lose 5kgs in 3 days, but is it smart? No. It’s not; it’s really dumb and also dangerous.
Take a deep breath. There is a limit to how fast people can lose fat without damage to their health. There are billions of people in this world and not one of us are the same. We all have different amounts of fat cells, different rate at which we burn fat, different number of muscle fibres and different bone sizes. It may take a little longer for you to shed fat than others but you will get there.
You are limited only by your imagination.
